Extinguished Flame

October 18th, 2005

The fire I lit is scorching,

The flame is burning everything,

Why am I not burned?

I should be left in ashes,

but here I am cured,

Cured of all bruises,

This journey of mine will never end,

I will rise and I will fall,

All through dawn, I will pretend.

Comes dusk, with the gleaming moon,

I will let out everything that is fumed,

Nightmares haunt me in my dreams,

I am always alone in my fight,

Nothing I do is ever right,

Here I am,

Here I am in the dark room,

Here I am all by myself,

All alone with the extinguished flame.
