Third One is a Charm

July 29th, 2006

The third one is always a charm. This probably explains my encounter with a few of my schoolmates when I went to OU just now. First, I bumped up with the Chinese Basketball Boys. Then, while I was at Rock Corner, I met up with some Form 3 schoolmates. And the third one is one of my classmates, W.E.L. .

I watched M. Night Shymalan’s ‘Lady in the Water’ with my bro just now. It was a decent movie for me lar. But I was sort of like expecting an amazing twist because M. Night Shymalan is famous for providing exciting twists in his movies. I mean like to discover that ‘The Village’ had nothing to do with terrifying creatures in the end was plain amazing. Anyway, in case you are wondering, I didn’t went out with my peers just now. The plan was cancelled. It didn’t come as a surprise to me though because it had sort of happened before. Oh yeah, my bro and I had planned to catch ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 2′ but at both GSC and TGV, that movie was sold out. Hmmm…

As usual, I can’t fight the urge to buy something out from a bookshop every time I visit one. Therefore, I just had to grab Anne Rice’s ‘Interview with the Vampire’. Anyway, it was from Pay Less Books. So there wasn’t really a big hole in my pocket.

Well, it is well past the witching hour, literally. I gotta close my journal now and read that Anne Rice’s book.

Superstitious

July 26th, 2006

Is it really possible that friendship could be strengthened when one knows about the other’s thoughts and secrets? But wouldn’t a bond that is form through secrets be some kind of like, Idon’t know…dangerous liaisons? Maybe I’m just being overly sceptical.

Today is the last day of the July monthly test. Phew, what a relief it is to go through that three day ordeal. I tend to get a little bit superstitious during an exam week. Well, my definition of ‘a little superstitious’ might be a little too much for others.I’m just glad that it is over. My agenda after this is to catch ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 2′ with some friends of mine this coming weekend. Till then, I will just cross my fingers and hope that the movie outing is not cancelled.

Earlier this evening, I attended a ceramah on the technic to answer the Moral SPM paper. It was a very enlightening event. The penceramah was also a very fascinating lady. And uhm, not to forget a little bit bold. Well, for teacher’s standard lar at least. But that was what that made her interesting.

Now, I’m going rewind back to a few weeks ago. My relatives from Penang came down to KL two weeks ago and we all went up to Genting Highlands. It was a memorable experience. But then again, usually this gatherings with my relatives from Penang are always memorable. We stayed at Genting for 3 days and 2 nights. Ooooh and guess what? My brother and I had an amazing thrill at the theme park. I went on the roller coaster ‘Corkscrew’ and the experience was extremely cool. Anyway, it was my first time riding a roller coaster. Whoo, I want to do it again! Oh yeah, for those of you who thought that ‘Superman Returns’ is a bit tad boring, let me just tell you that I find the movie quite okay. I watched a late-night screening of that movie with my cousin at Genting and I actually didn’t doze off. It could also be because I didn’t expect much from the movie. I mean…a superhero wearing his underwear inside-out?

By the way, it is the 7th lunar month in the Chinese calendar…which means the ‘Hungry Ghost Festival’. And the festival is prolonged by another extra 30 days this year. I guess I will be double-superstitious.

Gotta hit the sheets now-which technically means the end of this entry. Nights.

Superficial

July 7th, 2006

The one thing about lying is that you have to tell another one after the first lie. A lie won’t be complete without more and more lies. It is sort of interconnected actually. You lie to save your skin and you lie to protect others. The lies that I’ve portray for the past few weeks had been lies that I intended to save my skin.

I totally lied about who I am. Well, to be honest…I don’t know who I really am? Am I the guy who blend in with the crowd or am I the guy who sits in my seat and seal my lips the whole entire day? There is no definite answer to this question, that is what that I am 100% sure about.

The truth is, I like it better to be the Chester whom I had "displayed" the past few weeks. But somehow, I missed the ‘me’ that I had been before those past few weeks. It’s really nostalgic when you come to think about it. There are happy memories that surfaced and there is also the possibility of my oblivion. When I am in my isolation mood…I hardly socialise. Which could be a blessing in disguise actually. As I would like to put it, "What they don’t know, they can’t use to harm you".

Okay, maybe it is not such a bad thing opening up. It gets you closer to a social circle. Which is what I really want…or maybe not. I don’t know. I’m confused.

Do I go out and watch movies with my peers or do I stay at home and read a good fiction?

Do I talked with my peers about stuff like pre-marital sex or do I just shut up and listen?

Do I break the wall that I’ve tried so hard to built or do I stay behind it?

Do I opt to be dramatic or sarcastic?

Aaaaarrrrgghhh!! I am so confuse!! GSMS!!

Oh, don’t mind the stuff that is above the page. Just trying for some drama before I go to the real stuff. It’s been a while since I’ve written in my blog.

So the breaking news is:

My school’s principle, Mr. Tan retired today…which explains my exhaustion (all the prefects had to do their duty).

My class is getting involved in some chorus speaking (Pull-tea, pull-tea, pull-pull your tea) It is totally silly. I mean the entire class was technically forced to enter. So much for living under a democracy.

That was basically what that happened throughout my boring days. Those were the rantings of a bookaholic. And speaking of bookaholic, it’s NATIONAL READING MONTH. Go books, go books…

I am a hopeless bookaholic. No lar…honestly, I’m not that fanatic. That’s all I guess. I might be taking a sabatical from writing in my blog. The reason:

It’s NATIONAL READING MONTH!!

No, seriously, I was just trying to be humorous.
